The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park is the result of years of community visioning, thoughtful planning, and partnership with the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy to transform a former industrial site on Detroit’s west riverfront into a vibrant public gathering place. The 22-acre park offers play areas, flexible gathering spaces, riverfront paths, a water garden and restored natural features that invite all people to come together. Linking to the Southwest Greenway and the broader Joe Louis Greenway, the park also connects neighborhoods across Detroit to the riverfront, creating a lasting community gem that is accessible and active for generations.
Guided by the Imagine LaSalle initiative, a community visioning effort to reimagine Buffalo’s former LaSalle Park, Ralph Wilson Park is on track to become a treasured waterfront destination for Buffalo and beyond. While the full transformation continues, key pieces are already in place, including the new pedestrian bridge and improvements to 4th Street Park, creating safer connections between the waterfront, the parks, and nearby neighborhoods. With support from the City of Buffalo, Ralph Wilson Park Conservancy and many more partners, the park is becoming a lasting public space shaped by the community and built to serve generations.
